Lee de Forest Amateur Radio Club, K6LDF will be hosting a commemorative event to honor Lee De Forest. This special event is to bring recognition to Lee De forest, the inventor, and his contributions to the communication world, and how his invention, the Triode, Audion Vacuum Tube, that made sending audio signals over the air waves.
When you work this Special Event station, you will receive a nice eQSL Card for the contact. It will have a QR Code that will let you learn more about Lee De Forest, and the Lee De Forest Amateur Radio Club, that carries and honors his name. Be sure to make a contact, so you can get your Special eQSL card.
This page has a bit of history about Lee, and his inventions. He is quite interesting. In addition to the Amateur Radio related inventions, he was also instrumental in helping bring audio to film. usually on one side of the film, there are wavy lines that work with light in the projector, much like the record needle works in the grooves of a vinyl record, to produce sound.
