Lee DeForest Amateur Radio Club

K6LDF | Hemet and San Jacinto Valley

The Lee DeForest Amateur Radio Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit amateur radio club serving the Hemet and San Jacinto Valley. LDARC brings local operators together for radio fellowship, technical learning, public-service communications, emergency-readiness support, and regular on-air activity.

In keeping with the club Constitution, LDARC exists to promote and encourage amateur-radio activity through public service, emergency readiness, advancement of the radio art, stronger communication and technical skills, trained operators and technicians, and good will through radio.

LDARC’s public-service commitment includes support for community safety and emergency-readiness work connected with ARES, RACES, and related partner groups. The club helps keep local radio skills, repeater access, and trained operators available when normal communications are limited or community events need dependable support.

Club history shared by Rod McHenry, N6CG, points to LDARC taking shape in the early 1980s. The club carries the name of Lee de Forest as a nod to radio history and the spirit of technical curiosity that still runs through amateur radio.

What We Do

Support emergency-readiness and public-service communications when needed.
Host and support regular club nets on local repeater, HF, and digital systems.
Help new and returning operators improve their equipment knowledge, operating practice, communication skills, and technical confidence.
Encourage licensing, Elmering, experimentation, and practical amateur-radio skills.
Promote good operating practice and careful stewardship of amateur-radio privileges.
