Congratulations

Gary KN6VJO He passed his General exam at Field Day. Welcome to all the HF bands.

I’m really happy that people enjoyed themselves and that things went pretty smoothly at Field Day this year. I would like thank our club officers, board members and everyone who attended zoom meetings and or participated in the event operations making everything happen.

Congratulations to our top 3 winners.

  1. Greg KN6PKG
  2. Gary KK6VZZ
  3. Art WD5GIE

Also Don,Larry,Charlie,Marcos,John & Greg Tyler (potential member) who all won prizes as well.

And thank you to all who contributed to our raffle so lots of hams could win cool stuff. Finally thank you to everyone who purchased raffle and meal tickets you make it happen too.

Also great work Operators! Our numbers are going to be good this year despite mediocre conditions. I’ll have our numbers tabulated and submitted hopefully this week.

While this event was obviously a group effort and there are many atta boy’s and girls to be issued. In my opinion, nobody works harder than our Event Manager & Treasurer KN6MJS. Our events are a success first and foremost due to her hard work commitment to our club. Please acknowledge her when you can and tell her how much you appreciate what she does for our events. Karen, Thank You! In the future we need to find ways to make these events easier for her going forward.

A Summer Field Day review will occur at our upcoming Board and Club Meetings this month.

Eagle Net Tonight

  • First week 10 meters 28.360mhz
  • 2nd LDARC HF Contest Returns
  • 3rd week 75 meters 3.900mhz
  • 4th week is 40 meters 7.238mhz.
  • 5th week is for something different. SSB 6,12,17 meters or JS8Call any band.
It is our hope that our new frequencies will allow us to hear each other better as well as make out of area contacts more regularly. Unfortunately these new frequencies do require a General Class license or better. For this reason, we are keeping it on 10 meters the first Tuesday of each month.

W9MCA Lyle Delano is a silent key. Lyle’s service will be at veterans cemetery in Riverside, on July 11th. You must be at the gate no later than 1PM for his service at 1:30PM.
Lyle’s silent key ceremony will be at our club meeting this Wednesday.

Due to some personal and professional challenges I’m dealing with, my day to day participation in our nets will be very limited for a while. I want everyone to be assured that this is not due to anything happening with the club and my responsibilities as club president shouldn’t be affected. I’ll miss you guys when I’m not there and will be looking forward to full participation in the future.

Net Control Operators Are Needed!

We need Net Control operators & Net Loggers!
Net control operations is a fun way to improve radio communication skills, & help our club.
We need operators to run NetLogger. NetLogger is a great way to attract stations from the out of our area. This makes our nets more interesting and grows participation.
Contact KN6RBP if you can help or would like more infoemation.

Man made or natural disasters of big enough scope can overwhelm our normal lines of communication. Land lines, cell systems and the internet may be gone or unreliable. It may take days or weeks to bring in the infrastructure necessary to restore communications.  This is where ARES can provide vital communications resources for the responders and the public.
Every licensed amateur, regardless of membership in ARRL® or any other local or national organization, is eligible to apply for membership in ARES

Our hobby is based on the desire to communicate, and the use of technology to do so. Why not put that to good use by serving your community in times of need.
To apply for ARES® membership please go to ARESDV website.

You could make a difference, when it REALLY matters.

Give the gift of your time & communication skill. Become a ARES member today.
