A DX cluster is a real-time network where amateur radio operators share reports of stations they hear or contact.

Each report, called a spot, normally includes:

  • DX station: The call sign being heard
  • Frequency: Where to find the station
  • Spotter: Who reported it
  • Time: Usually UTC
  • Mode: Phone, CW, digital, and so forth
  • Comment: Signal details, location, contest, or special-event information

For example:

Operators use the cluster to quickly find active stations, rare countries, special events, contests, POTA/SOTA activators, and openings on particular bands.

Your RBP DXCluster display takes spots received through the N7OD cluster connection and presents them in a web-friendly table. The connection stays open on the reflector server, while WordPress reads the resulting stream through dxc.k6ldf.com.
